How do these earphones perform in real life? Are they as good as they seem to be?

If both are good, then which one is better than another?

Let’s find it out in this Boat 255 Pro Plus vs 335 comparison.

Boat Rockerz 255 Pro Plus vs 335

Design and Build Quality

Boat 255 Pro Plus vs 335 design

The design of Boat Rockerz 255 Pro Plus is similar to the original Boat Rockerz 255, except for the control buttons.

It means the Boat 255 Pro Plus is comfortable to wear for most part. Listening to music isn’t a problem because of the light and comfortable fit.

But,

There is one small subjective thing. Because the control buttons are placed with the wire just below the right earbud, they keep hanging and touching your face all the time.

They also add slight weight to the right side. Due to this, the earphone gets uncomfortable to wear at times. It’s not that much noticeable, but worth mentioning.

This design has a major advantage that we will talk about in the later section of this comparison.

On the other hand, Boat Rockerz 335 is even more comfortable to wear. This earphone is designed very well to give a comfortable music listening experience.

The build quality of Boat Rockerz 335 is better than 255 Pro Plus. Boat 255 Pro Plus doesn’t feel cheap, but it’s not as good as 335.

The moment you hold both of these earphones, you will feel that the Boat 335 has a significantly better build.

Battery Life

Boat 255 Pro Plus vs 335 battery

Battery life is the strongest point of both. Boat Rockerz 335 can give up to 30 hours of battery life at 50% volume.

When you listen to music at 80% volume, you can still get 24 hours of battery life which is just great.

The Boat 255 Pro Plus takes it even further. At 60% volume, this earphone can last up to 40 hours.

Even at 80% volume, you can get 30-34 hours of music playback which is an exceptional in this price range.

Both come with ASAP fast charging technology. It means 10 minutes of charge can give 10 hours of music playback on both.

Boat 255 Pro Plus has a marginally larger 300 mAh battery, which takes only one hour to fully charge. While the 150 mAh battery on Boat 355 takes 40 minutes to do so.

If you listen to music for 7 hours a day, then you can get 5 days of battery life on Boat 255 Pro Plus, and 3.5 days on Boat 355.

Call Quality

Calling is a basic need, and both of these earphones are good at it. Both 255 Pro Plus and 335 come with CVC (Clear Voice Capture)

The purpose of CVC is to filter out background noise, so people can hear your voice more easily.

Putting the CVC aside, let’s talk about the real-world calling.

To be honest, both are good at best. They are neither excellent nor worst.

Despite having CVC, background noise can be heard on the receiver’s end, especially in a noisy environment.

But wait. Earlier we have talked about the major advantage of the 255 Plus Pro’s button placement. So what’s that?

Because the control buttons are placed within the wire near the right earbud, the mic is near to your mouth.

It means your voice is much more audible on the receiver’s end. Also, you can easily move the mic near to your mouth. It helps in better call quality.

Sound and Bass Quality

The most important feature for buying any audio device is sound. If we are willing to pay money, we expect good sound quality.

Luckily, both of these Bluetooth earphones won’t disappoint you in this regard.

Keep in mind that these are budget neckband earphones. Don’t expect ultra-premium sound quality.

But for the price, they sound way better than others. You won’t be having any problem with these earphones.

If you love boosted bass then 255 Pro Plus is slightly better. Also, the loudness is very high. Listening to music at 80% volume is more than enough. You will rarely need to go beyond that.

boAt 335 isn’t far behind. It also produces excellent sound stages. You can feel the thumb of the bass which is what boAt is known for.

The vocals and treble are clear on both. Instrument separation is also on point.

Because of the aptX technology, both earphones sound good, but Boat 255 Pro Plus is a tad better in bass.

  1. The comparision was quite helpful. Can you recommend me something better that these two at a little higher price. I am more concerend about sound quality and bass along with call quality.

  2. what about the nobs at the edges of connecting points of cable…as concerning this point which serves for longer run?

    1. We have used and still using earphones with flat and round cables. We didn’t face any reliability issues with either. But flat cables have some benefits. It’s easier to handle and store as they don’t tangle. They are flexible, hence, fold and bend easily as compared to round audio cables. So, the flat cables are expected to last longer.
The nobs at the edges of connecting points of the cable are better on boAt 255 Pro+ as there is rubber support for it.

    1. It’s satisfactory. For indoors, the call quality is good. It’s not the best, but the other person can hear you properly. Outdoors, the call quality is average at best. But, it’s the same case with every Bluetooth earphone at this price.

  3. BoAt 335 =SBC,AAC,aptx aptx HD

    BoAt 255 pro+ =SBC,AAC,aptx

Can we say BoAt 335 has good quality sound over BoAt 255 pro+ as it supports aptx HD Bluetooth codec ?

    1. Technically, BoAt 335 should have better sound quality because of the aptX HD, but the difference is very minimal. The sound quality is amazing on both, but it’s slightly better on BoAt 335.

        1. The control buttons placed within the wire on the right side might be giving you pain because it adds a little weight to it.
We found a little problem with this design, but that was not the case with 335. It was very much comfortable to wear all day long. The weight is more or less similar on both earphones.

    1. Note that both these BT earphones have a tad bit of latency while playing games. It’s not that much noticeable for a regular user, but if you are a hard gamer, then you will notice it.
When comparing both, the Boat Rockerz 335 is slightly better in gaming and has minimal latency.
