CrossBeats Opera Review

CrossBeats Opera has been gaining popularity since its launch. Its compelling specifications are ahead of the competition, and that’s why users are leaning toward it.

But is it really a good pair of TWS earbuds? Should you buy it for Rs 2500? Does it justify its price tag?

Let’s find it out in this CrossBeats Opera review.

The on-paper specifications are impressive. The big 13mm driver, Bluetooth 5.3, and bigger battery are something that we don’t find very often at this price.

But on-paper specifications don’t translate to real-life performance.

So how does CrossBeats Opera perform in real life? Let’s find out.

CrossBeats Opera Review

Build Quality

CrossBeats Opera Build Quality

CrossBeats Opera is entirely made of plastic, but it feels sturdy overall.

The earbuds have a matt finish and rubberized texture, which gives them a premium touch.

The carrying case is also made of plastic and has a solid build quality.

However, the cap of the carrying case feels slightly fragile. So you should protect it from falling on hard surfaces, otherwise, the carrying case might get damaged.

There is no such problem with the earbuds. They feel sturdy and premium at the same time.

Because the earbuds have a matt finish, you don’t have to worry about cleaning the fingerprints.

The overall build quality is solid. Yes, there is a slight issue with the carrying case, but if handled carefully, the earbuds and the carrying case will easily last for years.

Build Quality Rating: 4.0★

Design and Comfort

CrossBeats Opera Design

The CrossBeats Opera has a half-stem-style design. It’s a combination of small regular-size earbuds and stem-style earbuds. Overall, these earbuds feel too small.

As the case has a bigger 400 mAh battery, there is no change in its size. It fits nicely in the jeans pocket.

The CrossBeats Opera is one of the most comfortable pairs of earbuds to wear. They fit comfortably in the ears and don’t cause any fatigue.

Because the earbuds are tilted at 45°, they fit perfectly in your ears, and you can listen to music for hours without any problem.

However, you can’t use these earbuds comfortably with the helmet. Yes, the earbuds are small, but they protrude a little from the ears, which will cause discomfort with the helmet.

Other than that, there is no issue with the design and comfort.

These earbuds fit perfectly, even if you have small ears. Some people might face some discomfort, but the majority won’t.

Design and Comfort Rating: 4.2★

Battery Life

The CrossBeats Opera has excellent battery life. The company claims 60 Hrs of total battery backup, but here is what we have observed.

On Earbuds:

  • 6.5 hours of music playback at 85% volume
  • 7 hours of music playback at 70% volume
  • Close to 8 hours of music playback at 50% volume

With the case, you get:

  • 35+ hours of music play at 85% volume
  • Close to 40 hours of music playback at 70% volume.

You can charge earbuds around five times using the carrying case.

Charging earbuds takes around 1 hour, and charging the case takes close to 1.5 hours.

The CrossBeats is the only pair of TWS in this segment that comes with wireless charging. Most users won’t use it, but still, you have the option.

The overall battery life is excellent. If you get around 7 hours of music playback on the earbuds, it’s more than enough for most users.

Battery Life Rating: 4.3★

Call Quality

Most earbuds at this price fail to deliver a satisfying call quality, no matter if they have a dual or quad mic.

The CrossBeats Opera has a dual mic, one on each earbud.

Although the company claims crystal clear call quality, it’s far behind the claims.

The indoor call quality is decent, and the person on the other end will be able to hear your voice. Your voice will feel compressed, but still, it will remain audible.

The outdoor call quality is below average. There will be a lot more noise, and the other person won’t be able to hear you properly.

It’s not just the CrossBeats Opera, but most earbuds deliver average call quality. If calling is high on your priority list, then we don’t suggest this TWS.

Call Quality Rating: 3.8★

Sound and Bass Quality

CrossBeats Opera Sound Quality

The primary reason to buy any earbud is the sound quality.

We are happy to inform you that the CrossBeats Opera doesn’t disappoint in the sound department.

If you are a bass lover, go and get this. The 13mm drivers on these earbuds deliver the best quality bass.

It’s deep, punchy, and rich. If you level up the volume to the max, you will feel little vibrations in your ears.

Although we don’t suggest you listen to music at full volume in these earbuds as the sound gets too loud.

70% volume is the best spot to listen to music and feel all the frequencies.

Talking about other frequencies, the vocals are clear, and the trebles are vibrant.

However, clarity is somewhat missing. It’s not that evident for many, but still, some users will notice it.

The open and wide sound stages are somewhat missing.

The bass compresses the vocals and treble, which leads to a slightly compressed sound.

These are not major issues, as the overall sound quality turns out to be good, especially if you are a bass lover.

We absolutely loved the bass quality on CrossBeats Opera. It’s the best option for those who are fond of heavy bass. Yes, the sound clarity is slightly missing, but it won’t be a deal breaker for many because the clarity is not that bad.

Gaming Test

The CrossBeats Opera has a dedicated gaming mode, although the exact latency is not mentioned.

If the latency is not mentioned, there is a high chance that it would be on the higher side. Otherwise, brands don’t fall back on promoting the exact numbers.

We don’t have exact numbers, but the gaming experience has been solid. There is minimal latency, and most users won’t notice much delay in sound.

However, these earbuds are not recommended for heavy gaming. If you want the best gaming experience with zero latency, then these earbuds are not for you.

These are for casual gamers who play games occasionally.

We have noticed that the latency is around 90 ms, which is not the best, but more than enough for most users.

The overall gaming experience has been satisfactory. It’s not a dedicated gaming TWS, so the minor latency will always be there.

Gaming Rating: 4.0★

Other Features

  • CrossBeats Opera has an IP67 splash resistance rating. It means these earbuds can handle light rain and accidental splashes.
  • The earbuds weigh only 8 grams (4 grams per earbud), and you won’t feel that you are wearing anything.
  • We don’t know how to test it, but the ear tips claim to be anti-bacterial.
  • The earbuds offer lag-free calls with ClearComm. We still don’t know what that means. However, ClearComm designs and manufactures custom-designed filter and combiner products for Wireless Service Providers.
  • The touch controls work well, and the earbuds don’t register accidental touches other than your fingers.

Is CrossBeats Opera the best TWS under 2500?

Declaring any earbud to be the best is not easy, as there are multiple factors that matter.

If the bass is your highest priority, then no doubt, the CrossBeats Opera is one of the best earbuds under 2500.

However, if you want more clarity with the right amount of bass, treble, and vocals, then there are better options available.

For better clarity and more enjoyable sound quality, we suggest you look at these TWS earbuds under 2500. This list also has the CrossBeats Opera, but there are more options to choose from.

We also recommend this pair of TWS for anyone fond of heavy bass.

But again, if you want balanced audio with open sound stages and more clarity, then you should look for other earbuds.
