On paper specifications don’t translate into real-life performance. So how does the Realme Buds 2 performs in real life? let’s find it out.

Is Realme Buds 2 Magnetic?

Is Realme Buds 2 Magnetic

Yes, the Realme Buds 2 is magnetic, but this magnetic feature doesn’t perform any function.

It means when you clip the earbuds together, it won’t pause the music. Separating the earbuds won’t play the music either.

However, it helps manage the earphones in your pocket or bag.

Is Realme Buds 2 waterproof?

No, the Realme Buds 2 isn’t waterproof and doesn’t have any form of IP rating.

However, we have purposefully dipped it in water for 3-5 seconds to check if it works or not. Fortunately, it worked without any problem.

But we strongly suggest you do not do the same. It might damage the earphone as there is no official IP rating.

So, the Realme Buds 2 can handle minor splashes, but you should protect it from liquids.

Is Realme Buds 2 good for PUBG and Gaming?

We have played PUBG, also known as BGMI, using the Realme Buds 2, and we haven’t faced any problems till now.

The footsteps sound was audible clearly, and there was no latency in the shooting sound.

As the mic placement is near the mouth, the persons on the other end were able to hear the sound without any problem.

We have also tried several other games and haven’t faced any issue.

So yes, the Realme Buds 2 is good for PUBG or any other games.

How’s the sound quality?

Realme Buds 2 Sound quality

We have tested a lot of wired earphones at this price, and we have to say that the Realme Buds 2 delivers the most immersive audio experience.

It has a large 11.2 mm driver, and this driver does a great job.

The vocals are surprisingly clear and remain the same, even at a high volume. However, the treble is a tiny bit compressed, but most people won’t notice it.

Where earphones like boAt Bassheads 242 (Review) deliver loud and vibrant treble, the Realme Buds slightly lacks that vibrancy.

The bass is the main highlight of Realme Buds 2, and this earphone does its best to deliver a thumping bass.

It feels slightly warm but remains clear and punchy. It has the thump that makes the overall music experience immersive.

DJ songs play just fine on this earphone. Here is a quick audio sample that will give you a good idea about the sound quality.

You might notice that the overall sound is great but slightly on the warmer side.

Frankly speaking, we really enjoyed the overall sound quality on Realme Buds 2. Hence, it tops the list of best earphones under 500.

Is Realme Buds 2 good for Bass?

Yes, the Realme Buds 2 is good for bass. Its 11.2 mm driver delivers impressive bass.

It’s not overdone and doesn’t disturb the vocals and treble.

So, bass lovers should go for Realme Buds 2 for sure.

How’s the call quality?

Realme Buds 2 call quality

The call quality is great on the Realme buds 2.

We have to thank the correct placement of the mic, which is located at the right-side wire. It gets near to the mouth automatically, resulting in better call quality.

After the placement, the mic also does a great job, and the person on the receiver end never complained about the voice quality.

So, if you often make calls using earphones, then this one won’t disappoint you.

Is Realme buds 3 coming?

As of now, there is no official statement from the company regarding the Realme Buds 3.

Don’t get confused by the Realme Buds Air 3. That one is a completely different product.

Realm Buds Air 3 is a TWS that costs more than Rs 3500.

So, there is no Realme Buds 3 wired earphone coming as of now, and the Realme Buds 2 is still the best earphone for enjoyable sound quality.

  1. When you said that you were surprised that these cost 599 rupees, what did you actually think that these would have had to cost?

    1. When we first used these earphones around two years ago, we were surprised by the sound quality, especially compared to the competition. At that time, we made that observation.
However, after using multiple earphones since then, the initial surprise has worn off. Nevertheless, the Realme Buds 2 still holds up well and remains a worthwhile purchase even today.

    1. Both earphones are great for their respective price, but Buds 2 has slightly more bass, and a little better build quality.
We would prefer the Realme Buds 2, but if you can’t spend more than Rs 500, then Buds 2 Neo is also a good earphone.
